Pat Bacon: Press

"We listen to a LOT of music from songwriters all over the country. For almost 30 years we've been conducting songwriting workshops, doing consultations, and judging songwriting contests. Pat Bacon's "Let's Live Forever" is in the top handful of CDs in all that time to impress us with intriguing songs, tasty productions, and pleasing clear vocals. Well worth a listen!"

review
David & Goliath put to song! Were it not for the great lyrics, vocal, instrumentation, - I would have a tough time rating this song highly, BUT, it's all there! To take a tale known by heart from childhood, put it to song, and to do it well, well, this is strong songcrafting, very!! I'd venture a guess re: who this writer is, what the heck, I know the voice, Pat Bacon, - & this is yet another very strong song from a fine writer! The 1st few times I heard this writer I thought "hmm, H. Chapin" now I'm thinking, "cool, P. Bacon."

It's a goose bump kind of song, Pat. I am a sucker for tracks like this. it is a forward on the strength of not only my buttons but the clear and consistent vocals, heavy hooks on both the musical and lyrics side of things and the lyrical content, which will get a lot of attention.

The generational character set up on this track is nicely developed and delivered, Pat. A great birds eye view on the state of the world. it is the kind of song that will, like your other tracks, have people turning to stare at speakers as they listen to make sure they do not miss a word.

Brilliant Songwrting
Wow, this song was brilliant. If someone told me they were going to write a song about a "Harley Girl" I would assume it would be a hard rockin' anthem. Instead what we get here is a tender and plaintive ballad that just oozes pathos and a sweet forlonging endearment.
This talented and intuitive songwriter laments the futility of winning the love of a woman too wild to tame, and in the true major leauge writing style of Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle he has penned a masterful work using romantic imagery and heatwarming story telling. "Ridin' down the highway with the wind in her hair, Too old to know better too young to care" the singer tenderly rasps as this 'Jackie And Dianne' styled tale unfolds.
No,diamonds and pearls will never be enough to win over this biker chick, but if she were to hear this song I bet she'd at least take you for a ride on her bike!

A real gem, March 31, 2004
Reviewer: A music fan
It is well known in music circles that Bob Dylan and
Warren Zevon greatly admired each other's work.
Had Warren survived and had they collaborated, the result
probably would have sounded alot like this.
Bacon hails from Dylan's home state. He blends
Dylanish melodic folk rhythms with Zevon's evocative
and often hilarious lyrical style.

This CD is a real gem. Thank me later,

Bacon's music is a delectable mix of acoustic alt-country and folk rock. His storytelling style and witty prose appeals to audiences of all ages. Using life as inspiration, he weaves clever lyrics with catchy melodies to invoke emotions ranging from tears to laughter. Bacon's songs will play in your head long after the CD ends.

5/17 Review Posted on Broadjam for "In Heaven"..."This tune hints of Jim Croce like brilliance. (Speaking directly to the listener, like an old friend) Vocal is fresh and original. Solid production. Nice thin instrumentation. Well done..and one of the best songs I've ever reviewed on Broadjam....Good Luck!!!! 5/5 AWESOME!!!!
